Clark’s Seafood in 2023

Clark’s-Seafood in-2023 is still the best restaurant in the Myrtle Beach area.  After writing the worst review that I have ever written about the Crooked Hammock, I will now tell you about one of the best places to eat in the North Myrtle Beach area. Clark’s Seafood

Clark’s Seafood in 2023 is still as good as the last time I wrote about it. Unlike most of the restaurants in Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, Clark’s is hidden away. You really have to look for it to find it.  The views from the outside seating area great. The staff are well trained and very helpful with any questions or needs that you may have.

On our last visit Clark’s had a special appetizer.  It was bacon baked with a maple syrup glazed. This alone had me sold.

But look at the presentation, three metal pipes joined together and mounted on wood. The Bacon is hanging from hooks which attached to the top pipe. If this was not enough the sweet maple syrup and some bacon fat are dripping down on to and hot croissant. We talked about a feast in heaven, well this has to be om the menu. The bacon was beyond great, and the croissant was close to being even better. Think about it, a hot croissant with maple syrup and bacon dripping on it.

I had to show it again with closer view. Most of the time when talking about Clark’s, I will talk about the steaks and the seafood. Well, they are still served, and I would say that they are the best in the area.

My wife and I both chose the prime rib for our meal. As you can see, we were not disappointed. I have never had a better meal anywhere in the Myrtle Beach area.

After the meal we enjoyed having a drink and looking at the boats in the harbor. The view is great and would be worth stopping and having a dessert and coffee even if you wanted t0 pass on the best meal in the area because Clarks Seafood in 2023 is still the best restaurant in the Myrtle Beach area.

Crooked Hammock Brewery

I have fallen way behind on my reviews of places I have enjoyed eating. I try to be positive and upbeat about the places I visit. However, I tried to have a meal at a place that demands to be written about. The Crooked Hammock was the worst dining experience that I have ever had. I am thankful that my photos all have time stamps on them, otherwise I would have not believed this really happened.

We were seated and given our menus at 7:33 pm

We took a while looking at the menu but by 7:56 all had ordered and we had received our appetizers.

They were good and were delivered pretty fast. But then the world turned. We waited for our meals. At 8:20 a rain storm hit but we were inside and were not affected by the weather.

As you can see we were dry.

At about one and half hours of sitting, we asked about our food. My wife asked if they could bring the little one her food. Which they did, but no one else got anything.  At 9:04 they finally brought food to the table. Them manager came to tell us how sorry he was and asked if we needed anything else. I told him that I would like my food. You can see the table in front of me. So again, I say Crooked Hammock was the worst dining experience that I have ever had.

He came back and told me my order had been lost, but they would get it for me as quickly as possible and that it would be on the house.  At 9:15 they delivered my meal to the table.

My wife finished her meal or she said she had and wanted to go back to the condo so I could eat. At 9:33, two hours after we first sat down at the Crooked Hammock, I got to see my food. Again, I say Crooked Hammock was the worst dining experience that I have ever had.

I know it does not look like something you would wait two hours for. In Pikeville, we have a festival each year which brings in lots of food trucks and many of them can beat that presentation. The Mac and Cheese was somewhat old looking, notice the darker color on the top. Not close to fresh.

The meat had good flavor and would have been good had it been served hot or even warm.

After we left the Crooked Hammock, the manager came back to the table and told the rest of the family that my meal was free and that everything else would be half price. This was good seeing that everyone had sat there for over two hours. I know things happen but even if we did have the worst waitress in the world, someone should be supervising her and expediting orders. Whatever the cause, the Crooked Hammock was the worst dining experience that I have ever had.

You have now read the worst review that I have ever written. I hope to never write another like this because I really enjoy eating good food at nice places like Clarks Seafood, a few miles north of the Crooked Hammock and a world of difference,
