Clark’s Seafood and Chop House

For our last night in the Myrtle Beach area, we decided to go to Clark’s Seafood and Chop House. Clark’s is located at the Myrtle Beach Yacht Club, Little River South Carolina. The Yacht Club area is a very nice place to shop as well as to eat.

Again we enjoy sitting outside when ever possible and Clark’s offers great seating and great views.

The menu at Clark’s Seafood has something for everyone.  We got to pick from fresh seafood, to steaks, to hamburgers.

Menu

For starters we decided to try something new.  We ordered She Grab Soup.  Having heard about for ever we decided it was time to try it.

The soup was a great idea for the cool evening. After the soup we had a salad. The House Salad is a good choice. It comes with egg, pecans and warm bacon and ham. You will also notice the bread.

For our meals we went in very different directions.  My wife chose a special, which was a salmon and pasta dish.

House Special

I on the other hand went with the Honey Bourbon Chicken Sandwich.  A chicken breast with a bourbon sauce, cheese, onions, tomato and bourbon glazed bacon.

It makes me hungry just typing that.

By the time we had finished, the sun had set and the views had changed.

Night View

When in Myrtle Beach try something different. Drive out to Little River and give Clark’s Seafood and Chop House a try. Allow your self time to walk around and visit all they have to offer. The area and food are very different  from Calabash and Murrell’s Inlet but different is good it allows everyone to find what they are looking for.

Boundary House Restaurant at Calabash

The Boundary House Restaurant at Calabash, North Carolina is a good place to eat.

Boundary House Restaurant at Calabash

I think a lot of people who go to Myrtle Beach, but they don’t know about the great seafood at Calabash.  Where as they go to Murrell’s Inlet, Just a short drive north and across the state line is Calabash, North Carolina and it is the home of great seafood.  The seafood at Calabash is different from what you would find at Murrell’s Inlet (Drunken Jacks) or in Florida (Salty Dog) or New England (Union Oyster House). The people at Calabash started selling their style of food in the 1940’s and it has never stopped. Calabash is the “Seafood Capital of the World”.

As the Capital, Calabash has more than it’s share of great restaurants.  We decide to try the Boundary House Restaurant at Calabash.  The Boundary House is a large restaurant with plenty of seating.

Inside the Boundary House

The style of cooking and the flavors are different at Calabash but on a cold day nothing is better than chowder.

Chowder

After the chowder which was great, we got our salads.

Salad

The photo I took does not do the salad justice, but the croissant was as good as it looks. Getting back to the meal. I decided to have the Crab Cake Sandwich.

The Boundary House Restaurant at Calabash seasons the crab with the traditional Calabash style.  I love crab cakes, but had never had one as a sandwich, but now I know what I was missing out on. My wife ordered the Large Shrimp. It came with Salad and a side.

The food at Boundary House Restaurant at Calabash was really good. It was worth the drive to get this meal. Finally next time you are in the area look up  Boundary House Restaurant.

The food is good however the views around Calabash are worth seeing also. Come early or stay late but give yourself time to look around the town and harbor.
