Having finished looking at Niagara Falls from the New York side, we took our grandson on his first trip to Canada. Going to Canada is not like it used to be when I was young. My wife and I had to have passports. Our grandson did not have to have a passport because of his age, but because we were grandparents instead of parents, we were required to have his birth certificate, a photo id of him and a notarized letter from his mother giving us permission to take him out of the country.
It can take a while to get through the border crossing process.
After getting through, we did what everyone going to Canada does. A haunted house. Who could pass that up?
We had fun and I made him walk in front of me. We then walked through the gardens. They are beautiful and were the way I remembered them when I was there fifty some years ago.
Being his first trip to Canada, we had to eat some place. We went to the Secret Garden Restaurant.
They have good food and a great view of the falls. Speaking of the food.
Someone told me they have good Ice-Cream drinks. The ice cream was a bit cold and it being his first trip to Canada we went to the gift shop and found a nice shirt.
Yes, we ordered him chicken again.
My wife had a nice salade.
No, I’m not eating healthy that is a ham and cheese croissant. Someone else at the table got the watermelon.
After the meal, we walked around looking at views of the falls.
Who would have thought on his first trip to Canada, he would have run into an old friend? They have a giant Hersey store. We had to limit ourselves.
