Drunken Jack’s in 2020

We went back to Drunken Jack’s in 2020.  Drunken Jack’s has been a place we have enjoyed for about 40 years.  It is located at Murrell’s Inlet south of Myrtle’s Beach.

Drunken Jack’s was very Covid aware.  They spaced people apart and all employees seemed to have mask.  We requested and got a window seat.  At our seat we were able to see the boats at the dock, and Goat Island.

Goat Island

For past twenty some years goat have been place on the island during the summer to keep the brush down. They are fun to see will to the enjoyment of Drunken Jack’s.  Now to the real reason to go to Drunken Jack’s, the food. For forty years Jack’s has been serving great meals. Their menu offers a wide selection of good food. Drunken Jack’s in 2020 is as good as ever.

I love their sea food but this is a place where you can get a great prime rib.  We started our meal with calamari.

I know if you look at the picture you can see that I got one and dipped it in the sauce as soon as it was delivered.  The prime rib come with a nice house salad.

Salad

In my opinion the star of the menu is the prime rib.

Prime rib and baked potato

I love Jack’s prime rib cooked just right with baked potato and creamy horseradish.  Drunken Jack’s in 2020 is a must stop.

Kennebunkport President Bush

One of the many beautiful towns you should visit in Maine is Kennebunkport home of President Bush. Kennebunkport  is an old town and it will remind you of the past. I thought of sailing ships and books that I have read of the Clippers and the seamen on them.

Welcome to Kennebunkport home of President Bush

I found the town to be a great place to walk. I enjoyed the different shops and wide selection of food. The town has several nice shops. We liked the Dock Square, Western and Ocean Avenues.

Kennebunkport’s History

I of course had to eat at Mabel’s.

Mabel’s

People often tell of running into members of the Bush family at Mabel’s, but did not see anyone the day I went. I did however enjoy a lobster roll that was great.

We drove out to Walker Point to see the Bush home. The best view that I found was at a site where the people had place a plaque to honor the former President.
