Flavortown

Flavortown in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is the most unique places that I have ever seen or eaten at. It is like a mix of Disney and Vagas for families.

Flavortown was a concept of Guy Fieri’s. In the ads Guy says come and play with your food and he means it. Inside the restaurant you will find a bowling alley.

A large arcade area.

Either of these should entertain the kids and or the adults too. Speaking of the adults, Guy did not leave them out. The restaurant has a nice area where you can sit and watch sports on wide screen TV. Unlike sports bars Guy has created small areas for families or groups. Each with it’s own TV,

The adults also have a Tiki Bar to visit if they wish to relax and talk to other adults.

I almost forgot, Flavortown is a Restuarant. It has a wide selection of seatings.

A nice menu with a wide selection to choose from.

A view of the staff preparing the orders.

We went a little pass noon and were not really that hungry. I guess we mainly wanted to see Flavortown. We ordered the Trash Can Nachos. The nachos are a must if you go. The presentation is fun and the food was great.

If you are a fan of Food Network and of Guy Fieri, then you will have no problem seeing Flavortown as a creation of Guy’s.

Margaritaville Island Hotel

Margaritaville Hotel

We went to Pigeon Forge and stayed at the Margaritaville Island Hotel. My wife and two sisters and their husbands had a great time visiting the section of Pigeon Forge called the Island. While there we looked at several shops and ate at the Margaritaville restaurant. After eating we walked around the fountain then decided to ride The Wheel.

On The Wheel

The giant 200 foot Wheel is a must do. As a result of it’s height, I could see the entire Island area from the top of it.

View from the Wheel

While riding The Wheel, I took the picture above which shows the fountain, Christmas tree, and the Margaritaville Island Hotel.

The Island area has lots of good food with a wide range of prices as well as lots of activities for children of different ages.

Our room

The Margaritaville Island Hotel was very nice.  We had a fireplace and sitting area to help you relax after shopping and eating to much. We also had a balcony which gave a view of the some of the shops.

The Margaritaville Island Hotel also we found has a pool on the upper level.

After a good night’s sleep we walk to Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen for breakfast. If you have not been to her restaurant, you may find it a little different. First of all the breakfast menu was divided into three sections so you select so many from each section.

Down Home Dishes

These are French Toast, Pigs in a Blanket, Pancakes, Breakfast Casserole, Chicken Biscuits and Scrambled Eggs. You are to pick three of these for the table.

Breakfast Meats

These are Black Pepper Bacon, Smoked Bacon, Sausage Patties and Country Ham.  We picked one for the table.

Breakfast Treats

In this area you are allowed two selections for the table. The options are Fried Grits, Southwest Grits, Biscuits and Gravy, Fruit, Fried Potatoes or Hash Brown Casserole.

Our meal

As you can see the size of the servings above are not large. However this is not a problem because they will continue to refill anything for you.

Therefore I think a trip to the Island and and a stay at the Margaritaville Island Hotel could not be Complete without breakfast at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen.
