Mama’s Chicken Kitchen and Joe and Pop’s Sub Shop are located on the Parkway in Gatlinburg. They are close to Gatlinburg City Hall and Fire Department. Mama’s and JOE’s are in the same building and you order for both when you enter. They will give you a number and then deliver the food to your table when it is ready.
We arrived late on a Sunday night in November, so the place was not crowded. My wife and I both ordered off of the Sub Shop menu. She ordered the Philly Cheesesteak with fries.
I ordered the Hoosier Daddy with fries and coleslaw.
The Philly Cheesesteak was sliced steak with melted cheese and grilled onions on it. Hoosier Daddy was something really different. It was a pork cutlet which was battered and fried on a bun with lettuce, tomato, mayo, pickle, onion and deli mustard. If you look at the picture you will see the pork extending past the bun on both sides. It was great sandwich, and I would order it again. The final photo is what you would expect, Mama’s chicken. it is a two-piece meal with slaw and mash potatoes. When in Gatlinburg try Mama’s Chicken Kitchen for great food served fast.
